Community Coordination

DERWA is committed to ongoing coordination and communication with the public, project participants and all interested parties in the service area throughout the construction and operation of the SRVRWP. DERWA Board members and representatives are working closely with the cities of Dublin and San Ramon and Contra Costa and Alameda counties, as well as area school districts, homeowners' associations and community organizations to keep all interested parties informed of the SRVRWP's status and construction activities.

The SRVRWP continues to provide information to the general public and affected parties, through a variety of communication tools listed below.

Program Newsletters/Fact Sheets

In Fall 2001 the San Ramon Valley Recycled Water Program Newsline was created to provide the community with project updates and information about the use of recycled water. Project Fact Sheets are available and updated on a regular basis. If you would like regular updates (via email or snail mail), please contact Ingrid Norgaard, Community Affairs Representative, at (925) 875-2231 or norgaard@dsrsd.com.

Agency Newsletters

DSRSD and EBMUD both provide periodic information to customers within their respective service areas through agency newsletters.

Meetings

SRVRWP representatives have held numerous meetings in the project area to provide information and gather community and recycled water customer input. Individuals, organizations and businesses that are interested in receiving additional information on the SRVRWP, or would like to schedule a presentation about the project, are encouraged to contact Ingrid Norgaard, Community Affairs Representative, at (925) 875-2231 or norgaard@dsrsd.com

Construction Notices/Road Signs

In advance of construction, notices will be distributed to residents, schools, and businesses within specific areas. These notices will provide information on the types of construction activities to occur in the area and the anticipated work schedule.

Website

The website will be updated on a regular basis to provide background information and current construction information, schedules, and maps.

Press Releases/Media Notification

DERWA will issue press releases and media advisories when construction activities are anticipated to create extended detours in high traffic areas.

Email

The public is encouraged to contact DERWA via phone or email with any questions, concerns, or comments.
