About the Program
The San Ramon Valley Recycled Water Program (SRVRWP) is a multi-phase project to supply recycled water to portions of the Dublin San Ramon Services District (DSRSD) and the East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) service areas. The program operates through the DSRSD/EBMUD Recycled Water Authority (DERWA).
This recycled water project serves large irrigation customers - both existing and new - who can be reached cost-effectively from pipelines built off DERWA's main transmission pipeline, including parks, golf courses, business parks, greenbelts and roadways. Common area landscaping of residential developments with professionally-managed homeowners associations also are potential customers. Recycled water is not intended to serve individual single-family homes.
In general, there are many other uses for recycled water. There will be more potable (drinking) water available, especially during times of drought. And by providing a reliable supply of water for landscaping, the project will enhance the quality of life in the area.
